Meet Bodhi, Chemical Engineer at Element 3 Energy
Guided by a passion for process design and materials innovation, Bodhi brings a systematic engineering approach to Element 3 Energy’s mission of building the lithium supply chain for fusion. Currently completing his final year of Chemical Engineering at Swansea University, he has hands-on experience to help define what “fusion-grade” lithium means, developing qualification frameworks and analytical standards that ensure materials meet the performance and safety requirements of next-generation reactors.
At Element 3 Energy, Bodhi supports the development of impurity analysis and certification systems, coordinating with analytical laboratories and suppliers to validate processes and define purity specifications. He has also represented the company externally, presenting at Fusion Igniter meetings and conferences to share Element 3 Energy’s progress with the wider fusion community.
Before joining Element 3 Energy, Bodhi worked on lithium purification and high-temperature chemical process modelling, developing expertise across electrochemical and pyrochemical systems in inert environments. His background spans the design and modelling of high-temperature processes, development of safety and operating procedures for reactive environments, and collaboration with partners to validate analytical methods. This combination of engineering rigour and interdisciplinary thinking enables him to approach fusion challenges with both precision and perspective.
So why Element 3 Energy?
For Bodhi, Element 3 Energy represents a unique opportunity to work where materials science meets fusion technology. As reactor development accelerates, ensuring the availability and certification of fusion-grade materials is becoming critical. Bodhi is driven by the chance to help define those standards, creating a framework that can scale with the industry.
In his words:
“Building the framework for fusion-grade lithium is not just about purity, it’s about making large-scale fusion possible.”
We’re proud to have Bodhi’s technical curiosity, engineering expertise, and commitment to innovation helping shape Element 3 Energy’s mission to deliver the materials that make fusion energy a reality.
